Paola Subacchi is the Director of International Economics Research at Chatham House in London. She is an expert on the functioning and governance of the international financial and monetary systems. She advises governments and non-profit organisations and is a contributor to academic journals and current affairs publications. She is a regular media commentator with the BBC, CNN, Bloomberg, CNBC, Project Syndicate, the Financial Times, the Wall Street Journal and the European Voice. Paola Subacchi’s recent publications include: The Connecting Dots of China’s Renminbi Strategy: London and Hong Kong, Shifting Capital: The Rise of Financial Centres in Greater China, Grappling with Global Imbalances (with Paul van den Noord). An Italian national, she studied at Università Bocconi in Milan and at the University of Oxford.
