Henrik Enderlein is Associate Dean, Professor of Political Economy and Economics, and Program Director of the Master of Public Policy at the Hertie School of Governance. He holds degrees in economics and political science from Sciences Po, Paris, and Columbia University, New York. He obtained his PhD at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies in Cologne. Before entering the academic world, he worked as an economist in the Directorate International and European Relations of the European Central Bank in Frankfurt. His research is concentrated on the Financial Market Crises, Sovereign Debt Crises as well as Multi Level Governance, in particular Economic Governance. He has been invited by the German Federal Parliament to serve as expert on the Enquête Commission on Growth, Prosperity and Quality of Life – Towards Sustainable Economic Practices and Social Advancement in the Market Economy.
