Lance Lochner is associate professor and CIBC chair in human capital and productivity in the department of economics at the University of Western Ontario. He is the current director of the CIBC Centre for Human Capital and Productivity and holds a Canada research chair in human capital and productivity. He received his Ph.D. in economics from the University of Chicago in 1998 and spent five years at the University of Rochester and one year as a W. Glenn Campbell and Rita Ricardo-Campbell National Fellow at the Hoover Institution before moving to the University of Western Ontario. Professor Lochner’s research is largely devoted to the theoretical and empirical study of human capital formation throughout the lifecycle.
