Irina B. Panovska earned her doctorate and master’s degrees in economics from Washington University in St. Louis, and her bachelors degree in Mathematics and Economics from Ohio University. Before joining Lehigh’s faculty, Panovska served as graduate instructor at Washington University, where she taught a graduate class in econometrics and statistics for Ph.D. students in economics and business. She was also the recipient of the Olin Fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis. Her research interests include empirical macroeconomics and time series econometrics. In particular, her recent research projects have focused on explaining the jobless recoveries and the asymmetric effects of fiscal and monetary policy over the business cycle. Panovska has presented at a number of conferences and seminars in the U.S., Canada, and Europe.
