Earl Carr

Earl Carr’s mandate is to develop the firm’s cross-border wealth management practice, and to implement the firm’s communications strategy. Earl joined Momentum in 2014 from Morgan Stanley, where he was a Vice President in the Institute for Sustainable Investing, serving as a strategist and thought leader.  Prior to Morgan Stanley, Earl was a Vice President of commercial banking at HSBC. Early in his 15-year career, he worked at McKinsey & Co. and the Council on Foreign Relations. Earl’s international experience has included 8 years studying, living, and working in Asia, primarily: Beijing, Shanghai, Singapore, and Taiwan. 

Earl is a Term Member at The Council on Foreign Relations. He is also a member of The National Committee on United States-China Relations (NCUSCR). Carr is a member of The International Career Advancement Program (ICAP), a member of The New Canaan Society (NCS), and a Deacon at Trinity Baptist Church.

Earl received his Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from The College of William & Mary and holds a MA degree in International Affairs from American University. He has studied at Beijing Normal University in China, and International Christian University located in Tokyo, Japan and is fluent in Mandarin Chinese. He also speaks Japanese, in addition to basic level Cantonese (Chinese), Spanish, and Arabic.
