The YSI Gender and Economics Working Group will host a workshop during the pre-conference of the 27th IAFFE Annual Conference. Members of the Gender and Economics WG will also be welcomed to take part in the workshop and mentoring activities organized by IAFFE in the pre-conference.  


The workshop will consist of paper presentations by the members of the WG, as well as discussions about future projects of the working group during the pre-conference (18 June 2018). Moreover, during the conference (19-21 June 2018), the Gender and Economics WG will organize a panel with a selected number of papers and a poster session, where all the members of the WG can showcase their research.

Call for papers

Without lending priority to any particular perspective, we welcome papers that feed into division of labour between women and men in private and public life, in paid and unpaid work. These include the analyses of the impact of social-institutional rules, norms and practices on the allocation of different jobs or types of work to women and men, related to vertical and horizontal segregation of women in the labour market. 

Submission and travel support

Abstracts (max 400 words) must be submitted before April 13, 2018. YSI will provide accommodation for a limited number of participants, and 4 travel stipends for participants traveling from outside US. If you would like to apply for accommodation and/or travel stipends please indicate so in your submission.
